LuPone, McArdle, Butz to Recieve 54 Below Live Albums

Broadway Records will release a series of live albums of concerts from the new Broadway nightclub, 54 Below, over the next few months. The releases include:

Patti LuPone - Far Away Places - Live at 54 BELOW (from her summer 2012 shows) - to be released on December 11, 2012
Andrea McArdle - 70s and Sunny - Live at 54 BELOW (from her summer 2012 show) - to be released on December 11, 2012
Norbert Leo Butz - Live at 54 BELOW (from his summer 2012 show) - to be released on January 15, 2012

I am so glad that these albums are being released, and will definitely be giving them a listen.

UPDATED!! COMPANY With Neil Patrick Harris to Get DVD Release!

The NY Philharmonic production of Stephen Sondheim's COMPANY, which was filmed and shown live in movie theaters last year, will get a DVD this fall according to director Lonny Price. The concert featured Neil Patrick Harris as Bobby and Patti LuPone.

UPDATE: The DVD will officially be released on November 13th according to a listing on Amazon. The picture above is the official DVD cover. It will be released in both DVD and Blu-Ray.

According to Playbill, the concert also featured "Martha Plimpton (as Sarah), Tony winner Anika Noni Rose (as Marta), Stephen Colbert (Harry), Jim Walton (as Larry), Jon Cryer (as David), Craig Bierko (as Peter), two-time Tony winner Katie Finneran (as Amy), Christina Hendricks (as April), Aaron Lazar (as Paul), Jill Paice (as Susan), Jennifer Laura Thompson (as Jenny) and Chryssie Whitehead (as Kathy)."

I am so upset I missed this in theaters and am so excited for a DVD release!!

Debra Winger & Patti LuPone Set for New Mamet Play

Debra Winger will replace Laurie Metcalf and join Patti LuPone in the Broadway premiere of David Mamet's new play THE ANARCHIST. Mamet will direct the play which is slated to open December 2nd at a Shubert Theatre to be announced.

I'm so excited for a new Mamet play, especially one that has female leads and stars Patti LuPone! I will definitely be seeing this one!
