Taylor Out, Samantha In

Taylor Swift is officially not Eponine in the upcoming Les Miserables movie. Samantha Barks, who played the role in the West End and in the 25th Anniversary Concert, will be playing the role in the movie.

This is GREAT news!!!! Here's Samantha singing ON MY OWN:

With Nick Jonas taking over the role of J. Pierrepont Finch this past week in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, I thought it'd be interesting to see a compilation and comparison of the three Finches that have played the role thus far. Check them out!

Personally, Daniel Radcliffe wins in my opinion. Thoughts?

Raven Symone to Join SISTER ACT?

In today's news, Disney Channel  and Cosby Show star Raven Symone is rumored to be joining the cast of Broadway's SISTER ACT. She would be taking over the lead role of Deloris van Cartier, the role Patina Miller originated and was Tony nominated for.

I think this casting actually makes sense and am kind of interested in finding out how she is in this sort of Broadway leading lady role.

Symone will join SISTER ACT in March 2012 for about six months.

Because I Love It: NEWSIES Performs on the View!

Check out this video of the cast of NEWSIES starring Jeremy Jordan on The View. They rock and I am so excited to see this show!!

NEW DEMO: Laura Osnes and Jeremy Jordan "Dare to Dream"

Here is a new demo from Faustus the Musical, which is still in the relatively early stages of development, with music and lyrics by Michael Mott and a book by Justin Silvestri. The demo, of a song DARE TO DREAM, features Jeremy Jordan (Newsies) and Laura Osnes (Grease, Anything Goes), who both recently starred opposite each other in the short lived Wildhorn musical Bonnie & Clyde. It's an awesome song and they sing the hell out of it and I am interested to see what becomes of this show in the future.

Stephen Sondheim's take on classic fairy tales, INTO THE WOODS, is now officially set to play the Delacorte Theatre. The show will begin performances in the outdoor theatre this July. The production, directed by Timothy Sheader with co-direction by Liam Steel, will serve as part of the Public Theater's 50th Anniversary Celebration.

Also set for the celebration is a new production of Shakespeare's AS YOU LIKE IT starring Lily Rabe and directed by Daniel Sullivan. The new production will begin performances this June.

An Amazing Cover of Fly, Fly Away

I don't know who this girl is, but I just found this video of her on YouTube through Scott Alan's I'm A Star contest. She is singing Fly, Fly Away from Catch Me If You Can (a song I both love and hate at the same time). She is amazing and has such a powerful, beautiful voice. This is a great choice for her. Check her out:
