Quiara Alegria Hudes Wins Pulitzer!

Quiara Alegria Hudes, probably best known for writing the book for the Tony Award Winning musical IN THE HEIGHTS, just won the 2012 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for her new play WATER BY THE SPOONFUL.

WATER BY THE SPOONFUL is described as "Somewhere in Philadelphia, Elliot has returned from Iraq and is struggling to find his place in the world again and put aside the demons that haunt him. Somewhere in a chat room, recovering addicts forge an unbreakable bond of support and love. The boundaries of love, family and community are stretched across, time, generations and cyberspace as birth families splinter and online families collide in this captivating new drama."

Hudes won the award over other nominees OTHER DESERT CITIES by Jon Robin Baitz and SONS OF THE PROPHET by Stephen Karam.

Congratulations and it sounds like a really great play and I hope I get the chance to see it!
